Research suggest that 1 in 5 Australian adults experience symptoms of a mental health disorder in any given year. Building mental health literacy is essential to identifying and responding to mental health issues.
The MHFA (Community) blended course will provide participants with the knowledge and practical skills to assess, approach and assist a person who might be experiencing a mental health issue or a mental health crisis.
This course has 2 components :
- eLearning – to be completed on-line by participant
- Zoom on-line session x 2 (2.5 hours per session) – to be delivered in group format by our instructor
The course is relevant to all members of the community and these skills can be applied in both a professional and personal context. Participants will become accredited as Mental Health First Aider upon completion of the course requirements.
